a life long creative soul, MASA started his formal art education at Hollywood high school for the performing arts, where he would be part of the Dance department under the guidance of KENY LONG, and would also play in the schools's Marching Band under Music director RICKEY WASHINGTON (Kamasi Washington's father).

His graduation year was also met with his first series of professional bookings with the stage production: Paquito's Christmas at the Los Angeles theater center and the Film: Star Maps directed by: Miguel Arteta and distributed by: Fox Searchlight pictures after a succesful Sundace run. 

His college years would be spent taking curses in: Jazz appreciation, Photo journalism and TV/Film production while his free time was spent choreographing various projects and delving in to electronic music production which would become his main vehicle.

in 2000 he released the 12" single EVOLVER / CHEMICAL RESIDUE under the PYROTEC moniker on the Iridium music level, that same year appearing on the labels compilation: Higher Collective Consciousness which featured artists like: Joy, DJ Eyal, Dj Reza & IR77.

He would continue producing music and playing underground events through the years. 

Working along side some of the business most rwcognized names, and playing festivals such as: COACHELLA, LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE, NOCTURNAL WONDERLAND amongst others.
